I'm an abstract artist, gallery owner, teacher, and counselor from Portland Oregon. I work in mixed media , but mostly with oil paints and cold wax medium, a luminous paste that allows for layering and experimentation and gorgeous results. I am an accomplished, award winning artist, but my passion is really to teach and enjoy this process with others. I teach painting in a fun, intuitive, and informative style- where absolute beginners to more seasoned artists will not only learn the skills to paint on ALL levels, but learn how to find your own artistic voice.  Ready to See How Far ONE Color Can Take You?
Sometimes giving ourselves fewer choices creates more room to explore.
In this mini course, I'll show you how variations of one color can become an entire palette—and how that palette can become a layered, expressive abstract landscape that's completely your own.
We'll mix.
We'll layer.
We'll scrape.
We'll make marks.
We'll ask “What if?” and see where the painting takes us.
And if something doesn't go exactly as planned?
That's part of painting, too.
Sometimes the biggest bloopers end up becoming the most beautiful paintings.
Pick a color and see where it takes you!
