Square feet of happiness

Playful abstract acrylic paintings

Creating with acrylics is often an approach I Use when I travel, or when i want to paint something that feels light and playful. Somehow it reminds me of the difference between a deep and powerful foreign film (oil and cold wax paintings), and a light, quirky and whimsical movie( acrylics). I know- its not a hard and fast rule and acrylics can be deep and meaningful..but the immediacy of the materials and their portability, make them my go to when I want the work to feel light, airy and lyrical. Below are a sampling of these paintings. They are still abstract, with just a touch more reality. Please contact me to inquire about available artwork for sale.

Where in the world is Lisa Mann fine art?

Aaah a project in the making..something I have always wanted to do- to record my travels through art. All of those tiny perfect moments, and the beauty that comes from every day scenes. Because I have travelled and lived in so many different places, continents, locations….It would be so so fun for me to document these in a collection or book. One day. Be on the lookout;) For now, the paintings in acrylic below are just the spark of the idea. Can you guess where they represent in the world? I like to think of the as “tiny perfect moments” or “square feet of happiness”

Most of these are 12x12 inches of  bright, bold and colorful paintings that portray the moments in my life into  pieces of art that are bright, cheerful, and beautiful. Even when the moments aren’t obviously beautiful… the art helps us to see the side of these tiny perfect moments that require us to stop, pause, and just smile.  Because the world is not always a bright and beautiful place…I need to paint it that way. Stay tuned for more to come.
